The Brazilian artist Lucas Dupin was in residency from June to August 2014 at Filament14. Based on his current research on everyday objects used to measure the time, during this months he developed new works to be shown in Brazil next year in a solo exhibition named "The dark back of time".
Lucas Dupin (b. 1985) is a Brazilian visual artist with a MA Fine Art (2010) from School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and a BFA (2008) from the same University. His work has been exhibited and featured in several solo and group exhibitions in Brazil, Canada and USA. Two years ago, he won the Energias da arte Prize, an important national award focused to young artists. As part of the prize he joined an artistic residency at The Banff Centre in Canada for two months. Other highlights in his curriculum are the prizes Forestry Interactions (2010) with an artistic residency at Terra UNA Eco Village and the competition and exhibition Olheiro da arte in Rio de Janeiro. Lucas Dupin lives in Oxford, UK, and works anywhere.
